Khris Middleton Put Up A Game-Winning 40 Points Against The Suns In Game 4 Of The Nba Finals On Wednesday

The 29-year-old scored an impressive 40 points in front of the home crowd at the Fiserv Forum as the Bucks secured a 109-103 victory. Fourteen of those points came in the fourth quarter and 10 in the final 2:07 alone, and Middleton has now matched a playoff record set by LA Lakers great LeBron James in 2007.

According to ESPN Stats and Info, the Bucks forward has now made 15 game-tying or go-ahead shots in the fourth quarter or overtime this postseason to equal LeBron’s record.

There were a total of nine lead changes in Wednesday’s tight game, with the majority coming in the latter stages of the match, and many thanks to Middleton.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, who was also crucial to the Game 4 win, putting up 26 points after a 41-point rout in Game 3, was full of praise for his team mate.

“That’s what he does down the stretch,” the Greek forward said after the game. “We want him to have the ball. We want him to be the decision-maker. We know he’s going to take big shots, and tonight, he was incredible.”

Bucks veteran Jrue Holiday also highlighted Middleton’s contribution in Game 4, which puts the Milwaukee franchise back in the running for their second NBA title and first since 1971.

“Khris has no fear, and he never has,” Holiday said. “Being one of the guys who has guarded him in my career, knowing what he’s done, hitting big shots, making big plays, he’s never been afraid of the moment. So, putting him in this situation is kind of perfect.”

Middleton, who joined Milwaukee in 2013, will now look to put in another fearless performance when the Bucks travel back to Phoenix for Game 5, where the South Carolina native will have a great chance of surpassing LeBron’s record.
